Gold Velvet Bralette
(Free Pattern by Lemon & Popcorn)

Hello!
I’ve had a lot of interest in this top, so I have decided to write out the process. The top was made freehand and I did not take notes or pictures along the way, it was more of a mindfulness make to me (yay for self-care and enjoying the process!)
However, I wanted to make this available to those that may be interested in making a similar version of their own.
Note: I have not had this design tested and it is all approximate. But the pattern/process is here for free. The pattern is based on a size medium. But can be scaled up or down to suit by adjusting the number of chains, where noted.
Happy crocheting!
Yarn: Bernat Velvet in Golden Moss
Hook: H/8 – 5.00mm

SPECIAL STITCHES
Single Crochet Picot (SC Picot):
Chain 3. Insert hook into 1st chain made & make a single crochet.
Bobble:
Yarn over, insert hook into the stitch or space, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook. Yarn over, insert hook into same stitch/space, yarn over, pull up a loop, draw through 2 loops on hook 3 more times. Yarn over, draw through all remaining loops on hook.
Notes: The instructions are written for a size medium. But the pattern can be adjusted by modifying the number of starting chains for the cups and the number of rows completed. I am also a fairly tight crocheter, so if you crochet loosely, you may want to use a smaller hook size to achieve a tighter crocheted piece.
Cups (make 2, do not fasten off after 2nd cup):
Ch 13 (reduce the number of ch for smaller cups, or add a couple additional ch for larger cups)
Row 1 – 1 sc in 3rd ch from hook (counts as 2 sc) & each ch remaining (12 sc)
Row 2 – Ch 1, turn. (Ch counts as a sc here). 1 sc in 2nd st from hook & next 9 sts. In last st of row/next sc, work 3 sc, placing a stitch marker in the 2nd sc of the 3 just made. Do not ch and turn. Continuing down the opposite side, work 1 sc into each st rem. (25 sc)
Row 3 – Ch 1, turn. 1 sc in each st until you reach the stitch marker. Work a 3 sc inc in the marked st (always placing the stitch marker into the 2nd sc of the inc made). Then work 1 sc into each st rem (27 sc)
Row 4 – Rep row 3 until desired cup size. I completed approx 11 rows.
Do NOT fasten off after cup 2.

Body:
Row 1 – With yarn still attached, work 1 sc into each st at the end of each row along the bottom edge of cup 2. Keeping yarn attached, insert hook into bottom corner of cup 1 & work 1 sc. Work 1 sc into each st along the bottom edge of cup 1. Then when you reach the end of cup 1, ch 21, turn. (Add fewer or additional ch depending on sizing. You’ll want it to be able to wrap around your back, almost reaching the centre of your back.)
Row 2 – 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook & each ch across back towards cup. Sc in each sc across (along bottom of bralette.) When you reach the last sc, ch 21, turn.
Row 3 – 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook & each ch back toward bralette. Then continue working sc into each sc rem.
Row 4 – Ch 1, turn. 1 sc into each sc across.
Row 5 – Rep row 4 until desired length. I completed approx 12 rows.
Final Row – Ch 1, turn. *1 sc in next 3 sts. Work a sc picot. Rep from * along bottom edge. Fasten off.

For Right Arm Strap: (With front of bralette facing you) Attach to top of bralette on stitch to the left of top point. Ch 40 (add fewer or more ch as needed to reach over shoulder to back piece). Sl st to top of back piece 2 sts away from edge of back band. Turn. 1 sc into each ch back to cup. Sl St into top point of bralette. Turn. 1 sc into each st across towards back piece. Sl st in end st at top of back piece. Fasten off.
For Left Arm Strap: Attach to top of bralette on stitch at top point. Ch 40 (add fewer or more ch as needed to reach over shoulder to back piece). Sl st to top of back piece at final st of top of back band. Turn. 1 sc into each ch back to cup. Sl St into st to the right of top point of bralette. Turn. 1 sc into each st across towards back piece. Sl st in end st at 2nd st to end of back band. Fasten off.
Straps at back band (shown above)
Tie:
Ch 3. In 3rd ch from hook work 1 bobble. Sl st to same sp. Ch 103 (add more or less ch for a longer or shorter tie.)
Without fastening off, thread tie through the back piece before working final bobble. Threading it from the bottom to the top and back to the opposite bottom corner, like a shoelace.
In 3rd ch from hook, work 1 bobble. Sl st to same space. Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
